ADHEBIT
Adhesion Promoters for Hot, Warm and Cold Mix Asphalt

Next-generation surfactants that are biodegradable, odorless, and safe for humans and for the environment.
The addition of a very small amount of ADHEBIT extends the service life of road pavements, making them resistant both to traffic loads and to the water damage, preventing surface raveling, pothole formation, and cracking.
Advantages & Benefits
Ensure bitumen adhesion to any type of aggregate, whether siliceous or calcareous, even in the presence of moisture.
Provides pavements with enhanced resistance to the water damage effects, thereby mitigating material degradation and extending the service life of the surface.
Extend pavement service life by preventing surface raveling, limiting pothole formation, and reducing cracking over time.
Improve the workability of bituminous mixtures, making them easier to handle and more suitable for manual application.
Remain stable at high temperatures, with performance unchanged even after several weeks of storage in hot bitumen at 180°C.
Are odorless and non-hazardous to humans and the environment, eliminating the risk of workers being exposed to hazardous chemical substances during production and paving operations.
Instructions for Use
These are liquid additives with a viscosity that ensures pumpability even at low temperatures. Depending on production requirements, the additive can be introduced directly into the plant mixer or into the bitumen storage tank. They are stable at high temperatures, and their performance remains unchanged even after several weeks of storage in hot bitumen at 180°C.
Additives | Viscosity at 20°C, cP | Density at 20°C, kg/m3 | Flash Point, °C | Acidity No, mgKOH/g | Dosage kg/t of bitumen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
ADHEBIT LA-1247 | 440 | 1.010 | 210 | 170-190 | 1-3 |
ADHEBIT LA-1245 | 200 | 980 | 190 | 120-140 | 1-3 |
ADHEBIT LA-1243 | 150 | 960 | 200 | 100-120 | 1-3 |
Dosage Guidelines
A dosage between 0,1% and 0,3% by weight of bitumen is recommended (from 1 to 3 kg per ton of bitumen). The use of aggregates that are particularly difficult to coat may require higher dosages, generally between 0,3% and 0,5%. The correct dosage must be determined by the user based on the degree of aggregate coating (EN 12697-11) and the water sensitivity test of the mixture (EN 12697-12).

Innovation
Additives with a particular chemical structure composed of long, high molecular weight chains. Once incorporated into bituminous mixtures, they position themselves at the bitumen/aggregate interface and, through physico-chemical actions:
1-Reduce surface tension, resulting in improved adhesion on any type of aggregate;
2-Create a very strong chemical bond between bitumen and aggregates, resistant to the disintegrating action of water, significantly increasing the service life of road pavements.
